Lincoln's Antietam Visit

---
Here, published for the first time, is the Alexander Gardner photograph of Lincoln's visit to Antietam. Though the exchange between the subjects of the photo was never recorded, it is quite clear that a skeptical Lincoln is scrutinizing the books of the AOP.

Here's looking toward a delightful holiday and a peaceful new year,

You've been keeping things from us! Just saw where the grave of a young New York soldier was found in an adjacent field near the Cornfield in October!

Dear Anonymous,

If remains have been found (though I've not been officially informed of anything) you can be sure the situattion would be handled with the utmost sensitivity, respect, and decorum, and would probably not include any premature or unseemly breaking of such a story by the Post or any other publication or blog.

Best wishes,

Mannie
