Everyone has their own holiday traditions, for some its going over the river and through the woods to Grandmothers. For Virginia and I, here in the beautiful Cumberland Valley, its a little different.
First a drive down Pleasant Valley to one of our favorite places...

Historic Harper's Ferry and a great hike along the C&O Canal (Two National Parks in one place!)
Then its home to prepare dinner...

Ah, Donovan's Reef, home to one of my favorite exchanges in all of film; Donovan: "NOT THE BRANDY YOU DOPE!"
Gilhooley: "Sorry!"
Nick,
It's my favorite Lee Marvin character, note he always has a beer in his hand or nearby.

I'm partial to Major Reisman myself, but this is definitely top 3.
I regret that he and John Wayne and John Ford didn't have a chance to make more movies together, this and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance are proof that there was a lot of promise in this collaboration.
