Not quite what I had expected

From my station at the FDR memorial...

this is as close as I ever got to the inauguration.

"Ours is not to reason why..."

Thawing out and turning in, just north of Boonsboro,

p.s.

I did manage to capture an incredible sound from the event:

Look at it this way Mannie,

Commanders always send their most trusted subordinates to "hold the flanks."

Looks COLD. Hope those Snickers helped.

Keep on keepin' on,

Jeff

Think of it this way, Mannie. It was you to whom Barack was speaking when he talked about all of those toiling in anonymity. And no doubt FDR appreciated it ...

When I first looked at the photo, I thought you'd stolen a page from Harry's blog and posted one of those Wyeth paintings....

No wonder I couldn't find you.

You helped keep America safe, and I thank you.

Wow I thought that sound was a jet flying over! Hey its still a day you will always remember. How well could you hear what was going on? I hope you weren't on your feet all day. Continue the thawing process!

Hi Mannie,

Although you were a mile away, it will be an event you will always remember.

Well said my friend!

Manny what a wonderful picture. Then too you always post such wonderful pictures. Now I know why I did not see you in the crowd on tv. Too far away. Still as Jeff said you must have been holding the flanks. Take care and warm up .

Great posts Mannie! Too bad you were stuck clear out in no-mans-land. Maybe next time you'll get to see the BIG show!

Mannie,

You didn't happen to see ET fly over at any time, did you?
